Nightmare and Favorite Friend

last night, an hour after mom took a shower, we found that there was something wrong with the apartment’s water pump. the water suddenly stopped running. at first i thought, “well, it shouldn’t take long to fix. i can shower later at night.” an hour passed, nothing happened. so i watched a movie. 10:30 at night, and the pump wasn’t fixed. now i was real sleepy and decided to brush my teeth and wash my face with drinking water.

positive thought: at least, it was a luxurious privilege to wash and brush with cold clean water. my face must’ve looked healthy and glamorous. 😉

but i was a bit worried about the next morning. see, the whole day yesterday, i was sweating like crazy and started to smell as we’d been walking quite a lot. if i didn’t get to shower in the morning, i wouldn’t be able to live with myself. so i’d had a series of nightmare. for four times last night, i dreamt that the water wasn’t running…but i waited and waited…and then eventually it ran again. two times i woke up to check if it was back to normal…alas, to no avail.

6:20 in the morning, nothing happened. thus, i threw my black t-shirt and capris on, packed my bag with shampoo, soap, towel and my work clothes and drove to compassion office. i had to shower at the office! my 1st absurd experience! now i feel a special bond between me and compassion thailand. 🙂

it’s been a very busy but fun day though. there are many changes going on here. change is never easy. it never pleases anyone. but we all have a shared standpoint. those who can’t agree, then, may have to reconsider their goal and make a decision. to me, though, change is always exciting…like taking on another unknown adventure.

i’m attaching one of my favorite friends at work here. his name is yoot. he’s a married man with one cute little boy called “hillsong” (he was born on the night the hillsong band played in chiangmai). he’s from a karen tribe and loves to speak funny english with me. he said he wanted to practice the language more…and i should be his tutor.

in this picture, he drew me a map to one of the projects…i’m not sure if i’ll ever get there. lol

p.yoot and his map-drawing...

i hope you have a great start of the week. eat healthy food. laugh with your friends. enjoy God’s companionship.

adieu.
